Who's in the PTA?  /  How can I join?  /  How can I contribute?

Good news! All parents of students and teachers at the Locke School are automatically members of the Locke School PTA! There is nothing additional you need to do in order to start attending and participating in PTA meetings and events. 

 

That being said, here are a few ways that you can help make sure you're staying in the know and contributing to the happenings of the PTA. 

 

Step 1. Join our email/newsletter communications list 

The best way to stay in the loop is to register an account with Membership Toolkit. This helps us ensure you're receiving our communications on announcements, events, and opportunities to participate. 

Step 2. Join our PTA WhatsApp group

We have a thriving WhatsApp community to help you stay connected to your class parents, announcements, community events, and the other PTA members for Q&A and updates.

 

Step 3. Volunteer for an event (Hint: Start with Locke on the Block)

 Our first major event of the year requires all hands on deck! You can learn more about Locke on the Block specifically at the Locke on the Block 2026 dedicated website.

 Step 4. Join our monthly meetings

Our PTA meetings occur once a month, typically rotating between morning meetings at the school and evening Zoom meetings to try to accommodate various types of schedules. Our goal is to make these collaborative, and to hear updates from the community on what's going well and where our school community could use some additional partnership and investment. 

Our first meeting of the 2026-27 school year: 

  • Date: Monday, Sep. 14
  • Time: 8:30am (immediately following drop-off)
  • Location: Hybrid - at Locke (Room 119) and on Zoom (registered members can get the link on our Calendar page)
  • Invite list: All Locke parents and guardians are encouraged to attend
  • Agenda: Welcome to the PTA, Annual Budget Vote, PAC Chair Elections, PTA Special Elections

 

Step 5. Join one (or more) of our committees

We have a few specific committees that help us pull off some of the many wonderful activities and events we do at Locke.

  • Special Events
  • Garden Crew 
  • Library Magicians
  • Fundraising Committee

Step 6. Make a tax-deductible donation

We are always excited to have more people willing to pitch in with a special talent, skill, or resource that they want to share with our PTA community to help support our students, parents, and teachers. Contact one or more members of our executive board to see how we can use your gifts or talents.
